MBARARA SCHOOLS SHINE IN PLE

Primary schools in Mbarara city have registered a tremendous performance in the just released primary leaving examinations(PLE) that were released on Friday at State house Nakasero on a function presided over by the first lady Mrs.Janet Kataaha Museveni who is also the minister for Education and Sports.
At St.Hellens Primary School which handles learners with specialities ,45 pupils passed in division one whereas 26 pupils came in division two.
According to Deus Twikirize the Director of studies said on 71 candidates who sat their PLE at the school,3 candidates were blind.He says Joshua Ayesigamukama a blind scored 10 aggregates.
Twikirize further adds that Agasha Angela merged the best candidate with 6 aggregates.
He attributed the great performance to teachers who covered the syllabus in time which gave learners ample time to read hard.
Twikirize however said the school lacks enough scholastic materials needed to cater for learners with specialities.
At Mbarara municipal school ,a total of 294 pupils passed in division one and 181 pupils came in division two.
According to the Headteacher Wilber Nkwatsibwe, the school had registered a total of 480 candidates but one candidate died in the course of the third term while other two suffered serious illness.
As a result , Nkwatsibwe says the school registered 477 candidates of which 294 passed in division one ,181 in division two whereas 2 candidates came in third grade.
He however attributes the performance to parents who provided scholastic materials and other essentials to the candidates.Nkwatsibwe further thanked the dedicated teaching staff who rendered enough time for the candidates.
