MBARARA UNIVERSITY COUNCIL CHAIRMAN HOLDS EMERGENCY MEETING TO COOL STAFF OVER IMPENDING STRIKE

The chair man Mbarara university council yesterday called an emergency university council meeting to respond to the resolutions of the university staff.
Among them is immediate recruitment of a university substantive vice chancellor.
Details of the university meeting are scanty as the chair man Dr.Ben Mbonye refused to divulge details of advice given to the university council by the Attorney General.
After the university council emergency meeting, Dr.Mbonye and his council met the staff and convinced them to remain calm as university council solves the vice chancellor issue.
The Mbarara University Academic staff association MUSTASA chair man Dr.John Emunyu told www.mknewslink.com managing editor yesterday that for them, ultimatum still stands if 14 days erupt without substantive vice chancellor, they are going to strike.
Currently the vice chancellor Prof. Celestine Obua and the troubled Secretary Dr. Byaruhanga are in America for two weeks holiday to cool their stress.
