Mbarara university academic staff association together with non teaching staff will meet on Thursday to demand for the head of forensic audit and the person who will chair the committee to appraise the vice chancellor Prof.Celestine Obua to either get second term or fail.
According to the chairman Mbarara University Academic Staff Association Dr. John Emenyu, the staff meeting for both teaching and non teaching staff will sit on Thursday this week to demand the above.
www.mknewslink.com managing editor tried many times to reach out to Dr.Ben Mbonye chairman university council to explain who will chair the appraisal committee and forensic audit that is going on but his known phone numbers could not go through.
Mbarara University staff had threatened to strike within 14 days if the university council did not put a road map of appointing a new vice chancellor.
The strike was however suspended according to Chairman Dr. John Emenyu.
Before the postponement of the strike, the chairman of the university council Dr.Mbonye met the staff and convinced them that their issues would be addressed.
Since March 2019, there have been fights between the vice chancellor, university council and staff on whether to renew the five term contract of the vice chancellor Prof. Obua or advertize the job.
