MEDIA FRATERNITY MOURNS UNTIMELY DEATH OF ANOTHER WESTERN UGANDA JOURNALIST

The western Uganda Journalists are mourning the untimely death of Arinda Confidence who has been working with 89.7 Iraka radio in Ibanda district.
Arinda who is popularly known as “Kaportable” passed away on Monday 13th July 2020 at Ishaka Adventist Hospital in Bushenyi District where she has been receiving malaria treatment according to reports.
‘Kaportabe’ has been presenting the morning show “Oreiregye” which runs from 6:00am – 10:00am every weekday (Monday to Friday).
One of the deceased’s workmate only identified as DJ Joker told this www.mknewslink.com reporter that Kaportable has been one of the most admired presenters who greatly inspired his co-presenters and fellow employees.
Born in Mitooma District, ‘Kaportable’ worked with different radio stations in three districts including; Theodore FM in Bushenyi district, Freedom Radio in Kabale district before joining the Ibanda-based Iraka Radio.
Kaportable’s death comes just a month after veteran journalist Francis Mutazindwa succumbed to pneumonia in Kampala.
Mr. Mutazindwa, who worked for the Vision Group in various capacities, died of pneumonia at Kampala Hospital on Sunday June 7 where he had been admitted a few days ago, his wife Betty Komujuni said.
He was until his death, working for Revival Radio Station, an Ankole Diocese owned community radio station.
Previously another media personality Christine Kabasweke, an accountant with vision group was discovered lifeless in her room on Mayor’s house along Bucunku Road.
Bernard Tumuhimbise, a popular radio host in Western Uganda was also found dead behind the premises of Nyumbani FM in Rwamwanja, Kamwenge District which is owned by Gender Minister Frank Tumwebaze.
Tumuhimbise alias Kazimoto committed suicide, according to the officials of the station.
