MINISTER AKELLO ORDERS STATE HOUSE ANTI-CORRUPTION UNIT TO INVESTIGATE CONTRACTORS IN RUKIGA DISTRICT OVER SHODDY WORK

Beatrice Akello Akori, the minister of State for economic monitoring has ordered the state house Anti-corruption unit to investigate the contractors in Rukiga at Mukyogo health center II and Rushekyera-Nyarusisi bridge over shoddy work and delayed completion.
The Shoddy works where yesterday physically witnessed at Mukyogo health center II in Kyazina, bucundura parish kashambya sub county where Acjude Engineering co. ltd was given a contract 2021/2022 and delayed construction of Rushekyera-Nyarusisi Bridge in Kitanga parish kashambya sub county Rukiga District.
The Minister revealed this after the physical tour in Kashambya Sub county, Mparo Town council, Muhanga Town council, Kamwezi and Rwamucucu Sub county, the minister who was on
her 5-day economic monitoring trip to Kigezi sub-region districts of Rubanda, Kabale, Rukiga, and Kanungu respectively.
Addressing the journalists, Hon. Beatrice Akello Akori, said that it’s so unfortunate that the structure of Mukyogo Health center II which was constructed in 2021ooks like a structure that was constructed 20years ago
She added that there is no way how patients can access the health center saying that the Steps and Rams which could have helped the patients and people with Disabilities where not put in place saying that it shows negligence by the District Engineer.
She Further blamed the district engineer Mr Deogracious Mutabazi for his childish excuse of “am New in the district” saying that the Six months he has spent in the office would have done something as the district engineer
“This show that money has exchange in hands somewhere and everyone is trying to run away from responsibilities but they cannot by the value of their offices” said Minister Beatrice Akello.
Some of the district officials led by the chairman lc5 Mbabazi Kakwerere, Chief Administration officer Mr Asiimwe John, RdC Fled Kyamuzigita and his Deputy Zadoki katusime among others were also heard spitting fire on the delayed completion of Rushekyera -Nyarusisi bridge.
