The minister of ICT and national guidance Dr. Chris Baryomunsi has revealed that he is the most suitable candidate for the position of NRM CEC vice chairman for western region.
He said this last evening while addressing delegates from greater Bushenyi districts at multipurpose hall in Bushenyi town.
He noted for purposes of western Uganda regional balance, Kigezi sub region where he comes from should be the one to take the day.
He added that the president is from Ankole, the deputy speaker of parliament Thomas Tayebwa sits in CEC, Prime minister from Bunyoro Robinnah Nabanja also sits in this top organ of the party.
Still, he said that his predecessor Maj. Gen. Martia Kyaligonza led the region for 3 terms whereas for him, he has just been in CEC for one term.
Dr.Baryomunsi went ahead to reveal that he is running against 11 candidates but according to him, he ranks best compared to his competitors.
Voting will take place on Aug 27 and 28 in Kampala. Voting will be by lining up behind candidates.
