The minister of state for housing lands and urban development Dr. Chris Baryomunsi has revealed that Maj. Gen. Henry Tumukunde went over board in a bid to declare his presidential ambitions to Ugandans.
Baryomunsi said this yesterday while in Bushenyi during the launch of a community based organisation ‘Bushenyi Development Initiative’.
He noted that the issue of telling rwandans to raise against Ugandan president Museveni was uncalled for therefore security organs arrestting him, interrogating him and taking him to court is the right procedure.
He said that both Tumukunde and Dr. Baryomunsi come from Kigezi sub region because Baryomunsi comes from Kanungu whereas Tumukunde comes from Rukungiri and they Kanungu was split out of Rukungiri in 2002.
Minister Baryomunsi added that on the other, Tumukunde is above 18 years thus have a right to contest for president as any other Ugandan.
The former security minister was Thursday arrested after security operatives raided his offices in Kampala.
Gen. Henry Tumukunde is currently admitted at Kampala Hospital after he collapsed in army detention.
