MINISTER CHARLES ENGOLA SHOT DEAD BY HIS BODYGUARD

The State Minister for Labour, Employment and Industrial Relations, Col (rtd) Charles Okello Engola has been shot dead.

Col (rtd) Engola was shot today morning by his bodyguard at his home in Kyanja, a Kampala suburb.

Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigire confirmed the incident.

The Speaker of Parliament, Ms Anita Among, also confirmed the minister’s death while presiding over the plenary session this morning.

Police spokesperson Mr. Enanga said that investigations are currently in the early stages of review. And they have also dispatched a team of crime scene experts who are using the most advanced forensic technology to get what exactly was the cause of this tragic murder.

Enanga further said that they don’t to speculate into the motive of the shooting until they fully confirm by investigations.

According to him, police are yet to confirm whether there were other victims.
