MINISTER KAMUKAMA RUSHES TO HIGH COURT TO BLOCK MUHEESI’S NOMINATION FOR KAZO GENERAL ELECTIONS

The state minister for Economic Monitoring, Molly Kamukama who lost Kazo NRM woman MP race to Jennifer Muheesi has rushed to Mbarara high court to Stop Muheesi’s nomination and endorsement ahead of 2021 general elections
The NRM electoral commission chairman, Dr. Tanga Odoi announced Jennifer Muheesi as the winner of NRM primaries for Kazo woman MP seat after garnering 16,802 votes against Kamukama’s 16,715 votes
Minister Molly and Annah Ruyondo petitioned in the NRM elections tribunal citing vote rigging.
The NRM elections tribunal according to its investigations confirmed that Jennifer Muheesi was Kazo woman MP NRM flag bearer.
However, in her application to the civil division of the High court in Mbarara, Minister Kamukama challenges Muheesi’s victory and wants court to stop her nomination until the main case is disposed of.
Minister Molly, also wants court to issue an order stopping the NRM electoral commission from nominating and endorsing any other person as the party flag bearer until the case is disposed of.
In the suit, the ruling NRM party electoral commission election disputes tribunal and Jennifer Muheesi are listed as respondents.
