MINISTER MUTUUZO CALLS FOR ACTION TO END DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

The state minister for Gender and Culture Peace Mutuuzo has called for Respect for women and immediate action on domestic violence issues if families are to be stable.
Min. Mutuuzo told the Mitooma district Rdc Mr Francis Kibuka that prisons are not full because men still beat up their women are walking scot-free.
She asked him to quickly start taking serious action on those men.
Minister Mutuuzo was on 28/04/2022 officiating at the belated Mitooma District women’s day celebrations that were held at Ruhinda Secondary School playground in Mitooma district.
The minister further noted that all women should be given equal opportunities to participate in different fields with respect and hence the need to eradicate women battering within the societies which she says has let down development and therefore a need to always have immediate actions on all issues concerning domestic violence.
Speaking at the same function, the Mitooma district deputy Rdc Mrs Marycent Ariho also called for love amongst married couples which she says will resolve most of the violence within families and further asked women who have already acquired leadership at different levels to aim at uplifting even those who are still struggling.
Meanwhile the Mitooma district woman Member of Parliament Hon. Juliet Agasha Bashisha noted that the government has done a lot towards empowering women , though there is still a need to help the young ladies get employment and therefore asked the government to help in looking for best companies that can take these young ladies abroad for work in countries that do not extort their lives .
Hon Juliet Agasha Bashisha hosted 25 fellow women MPs including Hon Annet Katusiime Mugisha of Bushenyi district, Hon Naome Kibaju of Sheema North among many others.
