MINISTRY OF LOCAL GOV’T TO BUILD 20 BN MARKET IN BUSHENYI

The minister of local government Raphael Magyezi has revealed that his ministry will this financial year start constructing a market in Bushenyi- Ishaka municipality.
He noted that the 20 billion market will be constructed at the premises where the current market stands.
The minister revealed these yesterday 14th July 2021 while touring the site with municipal leaders.
Magyezi noted that the market will be constructed using funds from African development Bank (ADB) MTIP project.
He explained that the market will be a business giant in greater Bushenyi because most of the businesses will be connected to the market.
The market will also help the community in the parish model Development model where people are supposed to produce commodities for sell and increasing household incomes at the parish level.
He urged market vendors to form an association which will handle the affairs of the new market when opens.
He added that he doesn’t want the issue of absent landlords to arise after construction and they disturb status quo.
He said that they will produce a modern design for the market which will guide the contractor to come up with a magnificent traders market.
The minister revealed that the traders in the current market will be relocated to a suitable place as construction commences.
