MITOOMA DISTRICT COUNCIL INVITES IGG TO INVESTIGATE 1BN ROADS CASH

The MITOOMA district council has called upon the office of the inspector general of government (IGG)  to start investigations into the district’s engineering department over the alleged mismanagement of Uganda shillings 1Billion which was allocated for the road rehabilitation in the 2023-2024 financial year, but the district technical team has fully failed to give out the accountability on how  money was utilized

All these happened  Friday in the district council meeting that was chaired by district speaker Moses Tumwekwatse

Benon karyeija the chairperson LC V MITOOMA district raised these concerns and pointed out that some members of the district technical staff were not doing their duties to provide proper accountability as it was intended. He continued by saying that those who will be found guilty of mishandling funds will be taken to courts of law.
