MITOOMA: KATENGA SUB COUNTY CHIEF ARRESTED FOR MISMANAGING 103M UGX MEANT FOR CULVERTS

Mitooma district chairman Benon Karyeija Alaali yesterday ordered for the arrest of George Baryebijuma Ntungura the Katenga sub county chief over misuse of government resources.

It is alleged that Ntungura paid out 103 million shillings to a contractor after producing shoddy works on culvert laying.

The chairman gave an order during a meeting chaired by Ada Naasima the RDC

Ntungura is still being held at Mitooma central police station where he spent a night under questioning.

Katenga sub county is synonymous with corruption; the sub county CDO Sarah Kiconco is currently battling a case at anti-corruption court Kololo after she allegedly bribed her boss Save Beyendeza to get the job.
