IN SHEEMA—
Mitooma political wars intensified at the final send off of former Uganda People’s Congress Chairman Maj Edward Rurangaranga today in Sheema when embattled Mitooma chairman Benon Karyaija walked out of Justice and Constitutional affairs Minister Gen Kahinda Otafiire as he started addressing mourners
The struggle for political supremacy in Mitooma came to climax last month when Benon Karyaija was censured by his councilors who it is believed were sponsored by the minister Kahinda Otafiire who hails from the same district but he was later brought back to office by a court order this week
As otafiire stood to address a big number morners in Kitagata,Karyaija could not bear to hear the words of Kahinda of whom he accused of masterminding his censure late last month.
Gen. Kahinda as he concluded his speech, he called Karyaija to the microphone but was told that he left immediately after he started speaking.
Maj Edward Rurangaranga died last week Sunday at the age of 85 after succumbing to diabetes. He was accorded a state burial by government of Uganda. He was buried at his ancestral home in Rukondo Kitagata Sheema district
Speaker after speaker commended Rurangaranga’s hard work in transforming his area and the entire great Ankole region.
