MITOOMA SECURITY SUB-COMMITTEE REPORT ON CORRUPTION READY

Mitooma Deputy Resident District Commissioner (D RDC) Mr. Williams Kasolo has revealed that the security sub-committee report on corruption is ready and will be presented to the members at the end of October 2019.
In September 2019 Mitooma district security committee setup a subcommittee to investigate endemic corruption in Mitooma District local government.
Mr. Kasolo told www.mknewslink.com editor in a telephone interview that the security sub-committee sat and interviewed witnesses who were allegedly asked money by the district officials in order to get jobs and findings were compiled in a report that will be presented at the end of this month.
He added that some of the witnesses feared to turn up to testify before the committee because of the arrest of the senior officials who appeared in court by the Inspectorate of Government.
Mitooma Officials who were arrested and appeared in court this month include Saverino Beyendeza District Community Development Officer and Sarah Kiconco Katenga Sub county community Development Officer.
Others are Onesmus Agaba District Human Resource Officer and Amon Byamugisha Principle Human Resource Officer in charge of district service commission.
According to IGG spokes person Ali Munira, Kiconco and Beyendeza are on bail where as Byamugisha and Agaba pleaded guilty and were fined and banned from working in government for 10 years.
