MOROCCO TO INVEST 4 BILLION UGX IN MBARARA CITY GARBAGE COLLECTION, ELECTRICITY, WATER

Mbarara city Leadership has today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Argan city in Morocco in an event that took place today at Mbarara city council premises.
The Memorandum of Understanding is intended to create a cooperation between Argan city in Morocco and Mbarara city.
According to Victoria Businge Rusoke the State minister for local government who officiated the signing of the MoU, Morocco has pledged to invest 4 billion ugx to help in proper disposal of Garbage in the city, extending water and electricity to suburbs within the city, and road works.
Minister Rusoke noted that Mbarara has joined other three cities of Arua, Jinja, and Fort Portal that will benefit from funds from Morocco.
She further warned leaders with in Mbarara city to utilize the funds well and ensure transparency.
The Lord Mayor Mbarara city Robert Mugabe Kakyebezi Pledged co-operation and promised to Foster for unity with Morocco.
Amrouch Lochend the Mayor Argan municipality noted that this twinning will Foster relationship and cooperation between Morocco and Uganda.
