MOST INCUMBENT MPS LOSE NRM PRIMARY ELECTIONS

Following yesterday’s NRM primary elections, most of the incumbent MPs will not be able to be part of the 11th parliament.
The most affected MPs are from western and south western Uganda, according to election results.
Political analysts say that the loss could have been geared by the supporting of the Age limit bill where most of the MPs did not represent their electorates as directed.
Among the affected are ministers in the cabinet of Uganda and the list is as below;
Evelyn Anite (State Minister – Privatisation) – Koboko Municipality
Adolf Mwesigye (Minister of Defence and Veteran Affairs) – Bunyangabu County
Elioda Tumwesigye (Minister of Science and Technology) – Sheema Municipality
Henry Okello-Oryem (State Minister – Foreign Affairs) – Chua East Constituency
Mwesigwa Rukutana (State Minister – Labour) – Rushenyi County
Ephraim Kamuntu (Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs) – Sheema south
John Byabagambi (Minister of Karamoja Affairs) – Ibanda South
Mary Karoro Okurut (Minister i/c General Duties OPM) – Bushenyi Woman MP
Molly Kamukama (State Minister for Economic Monitoring in the Office of the President) – Kazo Woman MP
Peter Kibanzanga (Minister of State Agriculture) – Bughendera County
Fr. Simon Lokodo (Minister of Ethics and Integrity) – Dodoth
Tarsis Kabwegyere (Former Minister i/c General Duties OPM) – Igara East
Micheal Tusiime – Incumbent Mbarara City
Hatwib Katoto – Incumbent Katerera Constituency
Lydia Wanyoto (NRM Chair Women’s League) – Mbale
