As Uganda commemorates world breast feeding week that is always the first week of August, breast feeding mothers have been urged to breast feed their children with in an interval of three times in a period of 8-12 hours.
Speaking to www.mknewslink.com this afternoon, Nancy Nyamweya the nutrition focal person Bushenyi said that effective breast feeding helps the child to fight malnutrition and other infections as it contains all food nutrients.
She noted that once a child is well fed right away from after conceiving, then it is well breast fed up to two years, this child is at low risks of suffering from nutrition disorders.
According to Nyamweya, breast feeding can also act as a family planning method as long as the child is still on the breast. She added that it also increases the bound between the child and the mother in addition to stabilizing the uterus after birth.
However, Bushenyi is to celebrate this day on 16th August, 2018 at Kizinda playground while its breastfeeding week will run from 8th to 16th this month
