In Buhweju—
The Member of Parliament for Buhweju west in Buhweju district Ephraim Biraro Ganshanga has warned west Ankole diocese Christians to remove politics from the diocese.
Hon. Biraro said this in an exclusive telephone interview with www.mknewslink.com managing editor today 24th Feb.2022.
Biraro is a strong Anglican from Buhweju who has been in the synod for a long time but never contested for any position in the ongoing church elections.
He noted that dividing the diocese according to 5 districts as well as presenting candidates from respective districts is detrimental to the growth of the diocese.
“Campaigning for head of laity and other positions in the church is bad enough thus no one should engage in it for the growth of the diocese,” Biraro explained.
The legislator explained that what should be concentrated on is the head of laity who will cause social economic transformations for the clergy and christians.
Voting for head of laity will take place on 26th March.2022 and there is a lot of politics as Willis Bashaasha, Pison Mugizi and Wilfred Katoobe contest for the above seat.
