MP TURYAHIKAYO IRKED BY CONTINUED SALE OF LAND IN RUBABO

The Member parliament for Rubabo county in Rukungiri district; Hon. Marry Paula Turyahikayo has expressed her concern over the continued sale of pieces of land that has resulted into house hold famine in Nyakishenyi sub county.
Hon. Marry Paula Turyahikayo said that the increased continued sale of land by the poor people to the rich has created more poverty and famine in households because there can’t be production of food.
The legislator said this yesterday at kiganda primary school in Nyakishenyi Sub County during her last consultative meeting about the constitutional amendment of article 102(b) that seeks the removal of presidential age limit.
Hon. Marry Paula Turyahikayo cautioned the people of Nyakishenyi to stop selling their land if they are to fight rampant biting poverty in the sub county.
Nyakishenyi Sub County was one of the sub counties in Rukungiri district that was ravaged by famine in the last few months.
She consulted all 35 parishes within Rubabo County Rukungiri district where she assured the electorates that she will take their views concerning the presidential age limit bill.
