MPS TO MEET PRESIDENT MUSEVENI ON MAKERERE 15% FEES INCREMENT SAGA

Bushenyi- Ishaka Municipality Member of Parliament Hon. Gordon Arinda Cowboy has cautioned and asked government to clearly see how to support Makerere University on current fees increment saga.

Hon. Arinda has said this during Bushenyi District Local Government Budget Conference held today 11th Nov.2019 at Bushenyi Municipality Multipurpose Hall.

Mp Cowboy said that Makerere issue should be handled with care because if it back fires, it may cause many problems in relation to education country wide.

Speaking to www.mknewslink.com, he said that 15% fees increment is a little bit high for students most especially those from poor families.

“It is a little bit high, we can see how we can get a compromise and am happy that President Museveni has called a meeting with us (MPs) today at state House, am sure that we are going to give him our thoughts to resolve this issue so that students resume with their studies as normally,” Cowboy said.

Members of Parliament are today 11th Oct.2019 going to meet the president of Uganda His excellency Y.K. Museveni at the state house to moot one Makerere University 15% increment saga.
