In Bushenyi—-
Bushenyi Deputy Resident District Commissioner Rosemary Atuhaire has strongly advised the people of Bushenyi to always record police statements and volunteer to witness in court so that criminals are not released.
She said this yesterday at Ruharo health centre II during a sensitive security meeting following a murder by chopping of Bernard Byaruhanga a resident of Bunyarigi ward Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality.
Ms. Atuhaire added that she is committed with her team; police and other agencies to ensure that crime is reduced to almost zero.
The OC CID Bushenyi Benon Kivengere told the meeting that he has 60% evidence that pins two suspects he has in cells in connection to the murder of Byaruhanga.
Jaffari Bassajabalaba noted that politicians fear to condemn thieves and other criminals because of votes.
“From now onward, thieves, criminals don’t vote me after all I know you are few, I can’t lose because of you,” Jaffari said.
The chairman NRM central division Lozio Nshemereirwe told heads of security at the start of the meeting that if rising cases of insecurity are not handled, they will match from Ruharo and Bunyarigi to president’s home in Rwakitura through Kashari.
Leaders calmed down the residents and pledged to ensure that peace returns to Ruharo and Bunyarigi wards.
