The alliance for National Transformation leader Maj General Mugisha Muntu has said president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is taking slippery road by allowing his son Lt Gen Muhoozi to indulge himself into politics without first retiring from the National Army.
The former UPDF Chief of Defence Forces made his caution while appearing on national TV on Monday.
Mugisha said that Muhoozi has a right like any other Ugandans to join politics but he should first resign from the Army
Muntu, the former presidential candidate warned that Museveni needs to be very careful because the road he has chosen is very dangerous for him and Uganda as a country.
He says introduction of the army in Ugandan politics intends to install fear in Ugandans especially opposition.
‘This regime survives on fear and renting political space by corruption and bribery’.said Muntu
His warning comes just after the first son celebrated his 48th birthday which left many questions without answers.
It should be remembered that on Saturday when Muhoozi was addressing the cheering youth he made it clear that serving UPDF officers are not allowed by law to make any political move.
Museveni has repeatedly denied grooming his soon to succeed him
