MUSHROOMING CRIME RATE CALLS FOR COLLABRATION WITH LOCAL LEADERS

The Deputy RDC Kabale Denis Nzeirwe has called on local leaders to collaborate with the district security Agencies in order to curb down the crime rate that is mushrooming in the district.
Nzeirwe sounded on Thursday afternoon presiding over the swearing in of 26 local council one and two chairpersons of Northern division in Kabale Municipality.
He said that as security they register cases ranging from mob justice, domestic violence, theft of livestock and motorcycles, and house breaking among others.
He said that if leaders register all residents from their area and report suspected criminals it would eliminate criminals. He also emphasized that the residents should report visitors and also be monitored by leader.
The Mayor Kabale Municipality Emmanuel Sentaro Byamugisha warned local leaders against corruption saying it frustrates service delivery to the people. He called upon leaders to focus on service delivery other the bribes from self seekers if justice is to prevail.
The Chairman LCIII Northern division Isaac Mucunguzi Rushoga asked government to increase allowances for local council chairpersons. Currently each chairperson gets 120,000 shillings annually from government, saying that if it’s increased it will improve on moral of local leaders and hence service delivery.
