The In charge of Mwizi health centre III Fredrick Byanyima has been arrested over lack of accountability for the government property.
Byanyima was arrested on the orders of the Resident District commissioner (RDC) Emmy Kateera Turyabagyenyi.
The RDC was supervising the health facilities in Mwizi Sub county following an internal auditor report of October which revealed that some of hospital equipment at Mwizi health centre III was not accounted for.
Kateera noted that the items which were unaccounted for were 6 hospital beds and their mattresses all valued at 7.3 million.
According to Kateera, the in charge failed to explain the whereabouts of the hospital property when he was tasked.
The RDC told www.mknewslink.com that they were left with no option but to arrest him so that he could be investigated.
Kateera also warned civil servants against personalizing government property after it has been put in their custody.
