The minister of innovation science and technology, Dr. Elioda Tumwesigye criticized his opponents in the race for Sheema Municipality Member of Parliament seat that they are just seeking for jobs but not to work for the municipality.
Dr.Elioda said this yesterday evening at Kabwohe play ground while launching his campaign manifesto and confirming his candidature in the NRM primaries for Sheema municipality parliamentary seat due on 31st May 2018.
He added that his opponents are too abusive and immoral citing the recent strike where they had boycotted campaigns. He said that they used abusive language on different media platforms to attack him.
In his manifesto, Dr. Elioda noted a variety of projects among others include; building a modern market, a modern taxi park and extending free Wi Fi internet to every resident in Sheema municipality.
He also confirmed that he will join the joint campaigns on a condition that his opponents stop abusive language.
Amid controversy in his candidature, Dr. Elioda managed to rally from Kooga on Sheema municipality boarder with Mbarara and was accompanied by a big number of supporters.
Dr. Elioda’s candidature has been a controversy since his decision to join the race where he was challenged in courts of law by some of his opponents and the NRM legal director had ordered for his removal from the ballot paper only to be saved by the deputy Attorney General Mwesigwa Rukutana.
Others in a race include; Jonas Tumwine alias ‘Omushana gwa Sheema’, David Kamukama, Eng. Raymond Kamugisha, Nkwasiibwe Polly Kataate, Jonathan Bongonzya, Daniel Mwebesa and Kada Mucunguzi.
