Mzee William mukira a strong Christian and an elder has criticized the bishop of WAD Rt Rev Johnson Twinomujuni for failure to refurbish katungu mission hospital for Christians to be able to receive treatment from their own facility.
“I heard that a lot of money was raised in fundraising to refurbish katungu Mission hospital but in vain since then”.
Mzee mukira 94years said this in a press briefing he held today in his office at valley college in Bushenyi town.
He noted that if Bishop Johnson was serious the archdeaconries would be having health facilities to refer to Katungu Mission Hospital.
“I opposed the construction of the Bishop’s residential house of 3billion when actually we had where Bishop Katoneene and Magambo had stayed comfortably but I was silenced by some Christians who had a lot of money to spend.”
He criticised the plan of the Bishop of changing the entrance door of Bweranyangi Cathedral to face Bweranyangi Girls which is not a priority and unnecessary.
He has added that the church has really done nothing for the poor Christians in the current country economy of uncertainty.
On education he noted that christians pay a lot of money in form of tithe but part of that money is not used to give scholarships to poor children from the diocese.
He noted that parishes, archdeaconries and diocese should start giving education scholarships to the children from poor families that are committed to the church.
He gave an example of missionaries and those who took over from missionaries gave scholarships to needy children including Mukira himself but it is unfortunate that West Ankole Diocese does not mind about the committed and poor Christians.
His much concern was on the great number of young people in the community only boozing due to lack of school fees and support to study.
