In Kitagata—–
NWSC yesterday donated items to patients at Kitagata hospital as part of national water and sewerage corporation evaluation week and giving back to the public.
In a function that reunited all managers of different branches of national water from South and western Uganda with an aim of ascertaining their performance,NWSC donated items such as toilet papers, liquid soap and sugar among others to patients at Kitagata hospital.
The in charge kitagata hospital Dr. Johnson Kabwishwa asked the management NWSC to subsidise on water charges as they do for other industries because the hospital is not profit oriented.
Mean while, yesterday NWSC also launched it’s we care foundation meant to sensitize customers about water safety in their water tanks.
Deo Mugume Quality control Officer NWSC said that this came as a result of customers complaining that their water is dirty yet the problem comes from over head tanks that are not clean.
According to Mugume, customers should at least clean these tanks every after 6 months in order to maintain clean water with the help of jik, brush, towels and some chlorine if one can afford.
Mugume noted that as National water ,they are going to be visiting different institutions especially investigating the state of the water tanks and disinfect some of them where possible.
He advised the public to always clean their water collection items such as jerrycans so that the clean water they get from tanks can be mantained.
