NDA IMPOUNDS 50 BOXES OF VETERINARY DRUGS, CLOSES 80 OUTLETS IN SOUTH WESTERN UGANDA

National Drug Authority (NDA) has closed 80 veterinary drug outlets and impounded 50 boxes of fake drugs in southwestern Uganda region.
This was during a 15-day intensive support inspection of veterinary outlets, sampled agro chemical shops in abide to improve the Veterinary drug supply delivery in the region.
Kenneth Kiiza the NDA regional manager told the media yesterday in a press briefing at their offices in Mbarara that the inspection was conducted in 8 districts of Lyantonde, Mbarara, Kazo, Kitagwenda among others, in 326 outlets of which 278 were drug shops.
Dr. Andrew Akashaba the Mbarara District Veterinary Officer cautioned private veterinary doctors to fully register themselves to avoid being arrested and barred from being veterinary doctors across the country.
