NEW CULT SABOTAGES GOV’T PROGRAMMES IN IBANDA

The Ibanda district Resident District Commissioner; Eliasto Akatuheebwa has appealed to the residents to report in his office believers of a new cult codenamed as Nyangakaibo sector who are sabotaging the government programmes and projects by stopping their children from participating in Registration and national identification card exercise for children (NIRA).
While speaking to www.mknewslink.com today, Akatuheebwa said the registration exercise which started in June will end in August where children from 5 years to 16 years are expected to be registered.
He blamed the new cult believers who have barred their children from the registration exercise mainly in sub-counties of Nyamarebe, Ishongorero, Kashangura sub counties all in Ibanda district.
The Nyangakaibo believers attempted sabotage the registration exercise for National identity card and mobile phones but they were arrested and sentenced to a six month imprisonment in Nyabuhikye government prison.
The LC 111 chairperson, Kashangura sub county; David Kiiza blamed delays in the registration exercise on some couples who separated after marriage and refuse to produce photo copies of their IDS to support the exercise.
