NINE PEOPLE ARRESTED FOR GATHERING TO PRAY IN KABALE

Police in Kabale have arrested nine people while others took off after they were found praying in the home of Ahimbisibwe Judith of Rusambya cell Upper Bugongi ward in Northern division of Kabale municipality.
The arrested were; Pastor Festo Kasoka of revival tabernacle church Bugongi who was leading the prayers, Mercy Kobusingye , Rossette Kyarimpa,Claire Owomugisha ,Patience Kobusingye, Peace Tukahirwa, Charity Kembabazi and Pretty Ahumuza all from above address.
Kigezi regional police spokesperson Elly Matte said that the suspects were arrested on intelligence information yesterday Sunday at around midday.
Matte said that they will be charged with disobeying lawful orders such as failing to adhere to presidential directives and ministry of health guidelines in relation to the Corona Virus Pandemic.
The case was registered at Kabale central police station under reference SD 22/29/3/2020.
