NRM FLOORS FDC IN RUKUNGIRI ELDERLY GENERAL ELECTIONS.

National Resistance Movement (NRM) supporters in Rukungiri district are celebrating after flooring Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) and other political parties in the district elderly elections that were polled yesterday at the district head quarters.
NRM won all the five seats beating candidates from Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) while other political parties had no representatives.
In the 2010 and 2016 general elections NRM also took all the five seats, according to the district returning officer Abas Namara.
On the district chairperson seat Jackson Ndyarimanya of NRM polled 48 votes defeating Vicent Byarugaba of FDC who got only 2 votes.
At the seat of vice chairperson, Fausta Rubagangara of NRM went through unopposed while George Ruraka of NRM also went through unopposed on the seat the publicity.
On the seat of general secretary, Stanley Tibakanya of NRM polled 48 votes while Emmanuel Tugineyo of FDC polled only 3 votes.
On the seat of Secretary of finance, Fredrick Kyabati of NRM polled 48 votes while Ezra Kemugisha of FDC polled 2 votes.
The election that was conducted amidst lose security was peaceful, apart from a few incidents were representatives from Nyakagyeme, Bwambara and Nyakishenyi sub- counties did not turn up.
Of the 250 votes that were casted across the whole process, only 3 votes were invalid.
