NRM HAD REMOVED MINISTER ELIODA FROM THE BALLOT PAPER, RUKUTANA PUT HIM BACK

The NRM chairperson electoral commission Dr. Tanga Odoi has confirmed that Minister Elioda Tumwesigye has been restored on the ballot paper following the ruling by NRM electoral commission legal director to scrap him off.
The removal followed the suit by some candidates led by David Kamukama, opposing, Elioda’s nomination.
Dr. Tanga, during an exclusive phone interview with the Managing Director www.mknewslink.com today morning revealed that the NRM legal director had called for the commission to scrap off Elioda’s name from the ballot paper but the Deputy attorney general Mwesigwa Rukutana ordered for his restoration saying that it’s not breaching any law.
Mean while NRM candidates have called off a strike which they had staged on Tuesday 15th May 2018 protesting against Dr. Elioda’s refusal to join them in joint campaigns.
Dr. Odoi however, told www.mknewslink.com that minister Elioda has accepted to join the campaign and confirmed that all candidates have agreed to resume campaigns.
NRM candidates had staged a strike by calling off all campaigns after Minister Elioda had refused to campaign with them which they termed as being under looked.
