NRM SUPPORTERS PLAN TO BLOCK BOBI WINE FROM LAUNCHING NUP MANIFESTO IN MBARARA

A section of National Resistance Movement supporters in Mbarara city have threatened to block Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu and his National unity Platform (NUP) party from launching their manifesto in Mbarara.
Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu yesterday said he will be launching his manifesto in Mbarara city this Saturday after postponing it from Friday.
While addressing the media at generation suites these NRM supporters said that NUP’s manifesto launch will disrupt businesses accusing them of being violent.
They have called upon the security agencies not to authorize Bobi Wine to continue with his event this Saturday.
However, the Deputy RDC Mbarara city Emmy Kateera Turyabagenyi warned these NRM supporters that they don’t have any authority to stop any legal political party from carrying out its activities in the area.
Kateera said that what matters is Bobi wine cooperating with security in the area for smooth activities of his party.
Jolly Mugisha the vice president for NUP in Western Uganda says that they have already contacted the security agencies and they expect cooperation.
