NTOROKO DISTRICT NRM CHAIRPERSON KILLED, BODY DUMPED IN IBANDA

Rwenzori West Police are investigating circumstances under which Ntoroko district NRM chairperson was kidnapped, killed and his body dumped in Ibanda District.
ASP Vincent Twesige the Rwenzori West Police Spokesperson identified the deceased as Japheth Kabagambe Ahebwa the NRM chairperson Ntoroko district and resident of Karugutu Town, in Ntoroko district.
It’s alleged that on 02/09/2021 at about 10:00am, Kabagambe together with Kadoma Micheal came to Fort Portal City to buy water melon seeds for planting and to repair a tractor. They moved around town and after identifying where to buy them, they decided to go to Centenary Bank to withdraw money.
Twesige says the duo parked their motorcycle and Kadoma entered the bank while the deceased remained sitting on the motor cycle waiting for him. After about 30 minutes, Kadoma came out only to find the motorcycle abandoned.
He tried calling the Kabagambe but he could not answer. The deceased later called Kadoma and told him that he had got a lift and that they should meet at Kisenyi in Fort Portal City. Later the deceased again shortly called the complainant pleading that he should send him money UGX 2, 000, 0000= very urgently. He never mentioned the reason why nor discloses where he was. Then the victim’s phone went off completely.
Kadoma who got worried went and reported at Fort Portal Police Station.
The PRO adds that yesterday evening, the deceased’s lifeless body was found dump near River Mpanga at Kamwenge-Ibanda border (Ibanda side) about 200 metres off the main road. Ibanda Police led by OC CID Ibanda picked the body and took it to Ruhoko Health Centre IV for post mortem.
