Police in Ntoroko are investigating circumstances under which the Ntoroko district National Resistance Movement chairperson Vincent Mugume was killed in a pool of blood.
According to the Ntoroko district police commander David Katunda, the deceased was discovered chopped into pieces by the residents who were passing by.
David said that the deceased was travelling from Karugutu to Kanara on a boda boda but he was intercepted by unknown people at Kandito village who hacked him with the Boda Boda rider only identified as Wazaadi.
It is alleged that after the assailants killed the two, they removed their bodies from the road and threw them in a nearby bush leaving the motorcycle.
Ntoroko District Police Commander said that they have detained two suspects at Fort Portal Central Police Station as investigations into the murder continue.
The body has been taken to Fort portal Regional referral hospital commonly known as Buhinga for post mortem.
