NTUNGAMO DISTRICT ENGINEER REMANDED FOR FORGING TOWN CLERK’S SIGNATURE

Ntungamo District Engineer Prosper Butubuura has been remanded to Rukungiri Government prison on charges of embezzlement.
Butubuura was arrested on Wednesday from Ntungamo town for allegedly forging the signature of Jackson Byamukama, the then Kanungu town council town clerk between October and November 2013.
The arrest was conducted by Inspectorate of Government (IG) officials led by Sam Agaba, the head of the Inspectorate of Government in Charge of Kigezi sub region.
According to Agaba, Butubuura’s troubles started in 2013 when he was acting as the Kanungu town council Assistant Engineering Officer.
Agaba told www.mknewslink.com reporter that on 22nd November 2013 Butubura fraudulently uttered a forged agreement bearing a signature of Byamukama claiming to have hired equipment from Labuju Technical Services Limited to construct roads in Kanungu town council
Agaba also says that Butubuura also fraudulently uttered a re-acquisition of Ugx 3.75 million on behalf of Byamukama the town clerk.
After his arrest, Butubuura was transferred to Rukungiri district where he was before the chief magistrate’s court charged with uttering false documents contrary to Section 351 and 247 of the penalcode cap 120.
His worship Hussein Ntalo Nasulu, the Rukungiri Chief magistrate remanded him to Rukungiri government prison until March 17th 2021 when he will apply for bail.
