NTUNGAMO HEALTH CENTRE IV CLOSED AFTER STAFF TESTS COVID 19 POSITIVE

Ntungamo municipality Health Center IV in Ntungamo district has been closed after one of the staff tested positive to Corona virus.
The staff is a nurse and her first contact, her husband who works at Ntungamo district local government also tested positive and the results of the two were among those released over the previous weekend.
According to George Bakunda the Ntungamo RDC, all the workers have been under self-quarantine in their respective homes since 27th, Oct 2020.
RDC said that the facility that serves Ntungamo municipality and the neighboring counties will be under lockdown for 14 days after which it will be fumigated.
Dr. Richard Bakamuturaki the Ntungamo District Health Officer (DHO) said that Ntungamo has got Seven community cases of whom three are staff of Ntungamo local government while four are security personnel
He said they have managed to transfer cases to Kabale and Mbarara regional referral hospitals for further management.
Doreen Atuhaire, an expectant mother who had come to the facility said that the closure of the facility is a big challenge for women from rural areas as other facilities are quite distant.
