NTUNGAMO MUNICIPALITY OWC COORDINATOR MAJ. MUHWEZI LAID TO REST

The Operation Wealth Creation coordinator for Ntungamo municipality Maj. Emmanuel Muhwezi was yesterday Monday 17th January 2022 laid to rest with army, religious leaders, politicians and family members eulogizing him as a dedicated individual.
At the time of his death, Maj. Muhwezi, a decorated service man who served on several foreign missions including Sudan, Liberia, Central Africa Republic, Somalia, DR Congo before retiring in 2018 was serving as the Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) coordinator for Ntungamo municipality constituency.
In a message delivered by Gen John Mateeka, the national coordinator Operation Wealth Creation Gen. Caleb Akandwanaho Salim Saleh described the deceased as a soldier who diligently joined, served and retired from the army.
On his part Gen Mateeka said he had lost a friend who on fall of the Idi Amin government, where they both served as army officers, were both arrested and spent 4 years together in Luzira prisons.
The South Ankole diocese Bishop Rt Rev Nathan Ahimbisibwe who delivered his message virtually described Maj Muhwezi as a dedicated army man who cherished developing communities.
He said he was the person behind the over 500 hectares of coffee planted at the diocese currently. .
He died on Friday evening at Itojo Hospital where he was rushed but failed to get medical attention.
He was buried at his home in Nyamitooma Rwashamaire town council on Monday. He had battled prostate cancer for 5 years that resulted into spinal challenges.
At the time of his death Maj Muhwezi was confined in a wheel chair as the cancers had affected the spine .He died at 68 and is survived by a wife and 6 children.
