By Ambrose Kweronda
In Ntungamo—
The Ntungamo Resident District Commissioner RDC George Bakunda has vowed to arrest all head teachers, directors and close schools conducting lessons for lower classes.
RDC Bakunda noted that they received intelligence information about schools sneaking in learners for some classes that haven’t been reopened by the government.
He was meeting with directors and head teachers of both government and private schools in Ntungamo municipality on Monday 3rd May 2021.
He directed all schools conducting lessons for kindergarten, P1, P2 and P3 to quickly send the learners back home before the security operatives swing into action to arrest them.
In February, Cabinet approved the reopening of schools in a “staggered manner” that will ensure compliance with Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Meanwhile the Ntungamo district internal security officer Tandeka Festo noted that the security operations will be intensified to also crackdown bar owners who operate illegally even during curfew time.
