NTUNGAMO RESIDENTS FAULT DISTRICT LEADERS FOR THROWING PARTY AMIDST COVID 19

Residents of Ntungamo district have faulted district leaders and the COVID-19 task force for throwing a party in disregard to COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures.
The district recently hosted a feast while sending off the Chief Administrative Officer and receiving the new one at the district headquarters.
A function held at the district headquarters attracted over 300 people mainly district employees, elected leaders and commission heads with at least 15 people from Kapelabyong district who were escorting the new Chief administrative officer.
Another function to send off the municipality town clerk Mr Festo Tandeka was being held at Ankole resort hotel almost at the same time with similar numbers also attended by politicians and security officials.
Food and drinks were served in the district council hall as music played later.
At the function, Nasser Mukiibi was ushered in to replace Hanny Turyahebwa the fourth Chief administrative officer in three years,
Turyahebwa noted that several challenges including document leakages, unprofessional conduct of civil servants, and litigation against the district, intrigue and aloofness of some civil servants as well as political interference in his duties as key setbacks.
Mr Mukiibi asked the civil servants and politicians to grant him cooperation if they are to achieve development together
