The outgoing board of directors NWSC Eng. Christopher Obal has today 10th July 2020 officially bid farewell to greater Bushenyi NWSC staff at a colorful function held at Western Meridian hotel in Bushenyi town.
Eng. Obal noted that he took over in 2014 and found when water was in only 33 towns but has left when 267 towns in Bushenyi can access water.
Obal attributed the success to hard work and limited conflicts in the corporation.
He added that he found NWSC with 10000 staff and they are now 4000 staff.
He said that he ensured that quality service delivery was made a priority adding that it is why there are limited complaints at NWSC.
Earlier the general manager Eng. Francsi Kateeba noted that when the outgoing board chairman took over in 2014, only two towns had water adding that they are currently 14 towns with clean water in Greater Bushenyi districts.
Kateeba noted that water supply in 2014 was at 45% and now it is at 75% despite the COVID 19 pandemic related problems.
In 2014, NWSC had 23 staff but it now has 98 staff, according to Eng. Kateeba.
He also revealed that in 2014 NWSC was billing 60M and it is currently billing 413 M monthly.
