NWSC TAPS, METERS THEFT IN BUSHENYI, WE SHALL NOT RELEASE ANYONE OF THE 14 SUSPECTS—POLICE

The officer in charge of criminal department at Bushenyi central police has vowed not to release any of the 14 suspects until they all appear in court since it is a national issue.
He noted that even if there is a 50 year old woman who has diabetes and pressure whose son in law was pleading that she should be released.
The arrested include 14 including a 50 year old woman most of them scrap dealers in Kizinda and Ishaka towns.
The operation was led by intelligence of police and NWSC staff who combed the whole of Bushenyi and Ishaka.
Three were arrested in Ishaka near Hon Kabuura’s home at a scrap shop and they led police to the other 11 in Kizinda
According to the OC CID Benon Kivengeri, no one will be bonded until Monday when they will appear before court.
NWSC has been running adverts and announcement on radio station warning the public against theft of water meters and taps for about a month.
It is not clear what scrap dealers use meters for since it cannot be used for scrap.
