Residents of Bubaare and Nyakatooma Parishes in Nyabubare sub county Bushenyi district have petitioned the office of the deputy Bushenyi Resident district commissioner in protest to the resolution to have them merged with Nkanga parish to create Nkanga sub county.
Led by former Nyabubare sub county district councilor Hon. Joab Twebaze, residents say the distance from their parishes is too far from Nkanga.
They also say that they were not consulted when the motion was tabled, discussed and passed in the sub county council.
Twebaze says that as residents they are aggrieved that when they are curved from Nyabubare Sub County, they will lose most services like schools and hospitals.
He adds that they wrote to the office of the district chairman Mr. Jaffar Bassajabalaba for intervention in vain.
When contacted, The Sub county chairperson Karori Lwamuganga said they passed the resolution for the good of the two parishes but added that when they are not comfortable with the move they should write to him other than petitioning the office of the RDC.
Loy Namara, the deputy RDC has promised that her office will call for a meeting on the ground to have their grievances solved.
