NYAMITYOOBORA MARKET BURNS TO ASHES, TRADERS CALL FOR GOV’T INTERVENTION

Police in Mbarara district are investigating circumstances under which Nyamityoobora market was yesterday 11th July 2020 at around 5:00 am burnt to ashes.
The fire which started at around 05:00am in the morning destroyed traders’ merchandise ranging from grocery, clothes and agricultural produce.
According to Nakya Jamilla Kigongo one of the traders, both her hotel and boutique were burnt to ashes. She added that she had came from Kampala for shopping.
The area Local Council one Silagi Mubiru called upon the government to come and help his people since they have lost merchandise worth billions.
The city Lord Mayor Robert Mugabe Kacebezi who visited the scene called upon the traders to stay calm as he is going to contact relevant authorities in the government to come to their rescue.
