ITS OFFICIAL, KAKYEKA WON’T BE USED BY RALLY DRIVERS ON SATURDAY—POLICE

Police in Mbarara have cancelled Kakyeka circuit scheduled to take place this Saturday as most top rally driver arrive in the area to take part in the 157 kilometer race of Mbarara motor rally.
The competitive race opens the national calendar of motor sport championship every year.
Rwizi region Police spokes person Ibin Senkumbi says police was forced to cancel the Kakyeka circuit because organizers of the event have failed to make safety assessment report of the pitch that is situated near Mbarara town where several other functions will take place on the same day saying all these cant well with a motor rally in the same area.
He told journalists that the organizers also snubbed involving security in the planning process who would have advised them on the best way to have a successful motor rally competition in order to avoid such late time crossing of the Kakyeka circuit.
He however said the organizers of this year’s race which will cover six sections beginning from Kakoba point in Mbarara Municipality are free to relocate the circuit to any other place and promised that police will provide security to the general motor rally exercise.
Some of the western based motor rally drivers like Yasin Mukasa are already making rehearsals at Inertia runway in Kifufu, Bubare sub county so as to challenge top drivers like Jas Mangati, Arthur Blick Junior, Pole Pole, Hassan Alrwi and Sebuguzi Ronald the winner of last year’s Mbarara motor rally who have already registered for the race
