ONE SHOT DEAD ON EASTER SUNDAY IN KABWOHE

Sheema Central police are investigating the circumstances under which an unknown assailant attacked Katehangwa’s bar in Kabwohe town and shot a patron dead.
Rukanga Alex the proprietor of the bar says at around 1:00 Am when people were in the bar enjoying drinks and music, a black Toyota corona whose registration number was not immediately ascertained parked outside the bar.
He narrated that a fight broke out and when he tried to find out what the fighting was about, he noticed that the occupants of the car were scuffling for a gun after a disagreement about a lady who had entered the bar.
Rukanga says he immediately closed the door to the bar but the gun went off and a bullet caught one innocent man who was in the bar killing him on the spot
Rukanga says he immediately reported to the police who responded and conveyed the deceased to the mortuary for postmortem.
The greater Bushenyi Police spokesperson ASP Martial Tumusiime identified the deceased as Edwin Kakuru of Kyamatogo Nyanga ward Kabwohe division Sheema municipality.
He said the body was taken to kabwohe health center 4 for postmortem and the investigations are ongoing.
He stated that the shooter was targeting a lady who is not yet identified.
