ONLY 35% CHILDREN COMPLETE PRIMARY, SECONDARY IN BUSHENYI AND MBARARA—CAO

Bushenyi District Chief Administrative officer Mr Elias Byamungu has revealed that only 35% out of 100% who begin primary and secondary conclude the two levels of education.
Mr Byamungu said this today Nov 28.2017 at Bushenyi District council hall during press conference organized by Reproduction Health Uganda through it project prevention +together with USAID and other partners.

Mr Byamungu noted that he carried this research personally in Districts of Mbarara and Bushenyi. He told the press conference that school completion rate in Mbrarara is 32% while in Bushenyi it is at 36%.The around figure is 35%.
The press conference today morning was aimed at launching the sixteen days of activism against gender based violence. The sixteen days of activism began yesterday Nov27.2017 and will end Dec 10.2017.
According to the project coordinator for prevention + at Reproductive Health Uganda in Bushenyi District Lydia Bamutya ,The sixteen days of activism will be spent in all twelve sub-counties that make Bushenyi District. She added that they will conduct different activities aimed at sensitizing men and boys against based gender violence in their communities.
Bushenyi District chairman Jaffari Basajjabalaba told the media there is a tendance amongst women that when they acquire higher education and money more than their husband they start over looking their spouses hence violence in such families.
However Faith Betega the Bushenyi District gander officer on the above subject warned women against overlooking their husbands because they are more educated and have more money. She told such women to know that having more money and being more educated does not turn such women into men. “You rich women, you have by all standards to respect your husbands because there is no way how your turn into men” Faith Betega warned rich women
The sixteen days of activism were after the press conference launched in Bitooma Sub-county in Bushenyi District with a series of activities that will be roled over to other sub-counties that form Bushenyi district.
