OPINION: RISE UP AND MEET A NEW YEAR NO MATTER WHAT YOU WENT THROUGH LAST YEAR

Good Evening Mitooma,

On behalf of Mitooma Youth Assembly and on my behalf, as we gather with family and friends, I want to wish everyone a happy and healthy New Year.

This is always a hopeful time, as we celebrate the end of one year and the beginning of another. And while 2019 was difficult for many of us, we must also look back on this year with the knowledge that brighter days are ahead of us – that although our challenges are great, each of us has the courage and determination to rise up and meet them.

It is that spirit that has kept our Dream alive for many years, and it is that spirit that will keep it alive for generations to come.

To Mitooma Youth and Ugandans at large ,our unity has never been important like today, when our society is faced with high levels of unemployment, cost of living is high, and we are not sure how tomorrow will end.

It’s a fact, getting out of poverty is almost impossible, and many are falling back below poverty line, however our strength lies in our unity, having one voice and working as a team; it’s from these challenges we are faced that we will develop resilience, only if we come together; our shared values of love for love, love for unity, love for equality, love for development of all and respect for each other shall see us through.

Mitooma Youth Assembly’s goal of empowering Mitooma Youth to achieve socio-economic freedom is a cause that each of us should listen to with an open mind, advice, support and embrace for our betterment of future generations. Let’s empower our community to offer local solutions to local challenges we are faced with.

We appreciate a role each of us has to play to achieve this goal, and appeal to every stakeholder, well-wisher, and friends to support this Noble cause.

I’ve no doubt, there are challenges ahead of us, however am sure, we have the courage and determination to face them and nothing will deter us from overcoming them.

8th Jan 2020 is the day Mitooma Youth Assembly ( Mitooma Youth SACCO, Mitooma Youth Seed Fund) will be officially launched at Bubangizi SS grounds. We will be registering new members & Electing Assembly leadership. Be there in person; inform a friend and your neighbor.
