Church of Uganda founded Schools have been advised to always carry out morning assemblies as one way of inculcating Christian values and discipline among the learners and teachers across the divide.
The advice was delivered by Rev. Can. Arthur Atwiine, the West Ankole Diocesan Secretary while addressing Church of Uganda Heads of Institutions in West Ankole Diocese who had turned up for their general meeting at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Bweranyangi on Thursday, 25/04/2019.
Rev. Can. Atwiine told heads of institutions that morning assemblies instill a sense of identity among school communities because assemblies are platforms where pertinent issues can be communicated and solved.
He pointed out that assemblies also help schools to develop feelings of unity so that both learners and teachers can move together in growth and development.
Mrs. Juliet Muzoora, the Vice Chairperson Church of Uganda Heads of Institutions in West Ankole Diocese warned heads of institutions against being hoodwinked into political gymnastics of the day saying, that if not avoided, politics will interfere with professional ethics of teachers and also affect their Christian values.
She lauded the Bishop of West Ankole Diocese, Bishop Johnson Twinomujuni for his commitment to improving education institutions in West Ankole Diocese.
